St. Paul Boy, 12, Killed By Uncle In Hunting Accident: Sheriff
A St. Paul family was hunting in northern Minnesota when a boy was accidentally shot by his 47-year-old uncle, according to authorities.
CASS COUNTY, MN — A 12-year-old died after his uncle shot him in a hunting accident on Sunday, according to Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch.
The incident remains under investigation, the sheriff's office said.
On Oct. 9 at about 8:20 a.m., the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a hunting accident in Moose Lake Township.

A family from St. Paul was hunting squirrels on wooded public land when a boy was accidentally shot by his 47-year-old uncle, authorities said.
Deputies and responders treated the boy before bringing him to a nearby roadway, where they met up with EMS personnel, investigators said.

The boy was then taken by helicopter to a metro hospital where he died, authorities said.
Crews from Motley Fire and Rescue and North Memorial Ambulance and Air Care assisted in the response. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner is expected to release more details about the incident.
