Suspect Who Fired at Minneapolis Officers Still at Large After North Minneapolis Incident
A suspect who fired at Minneapolis police officers from a vehicle Monday afternoon remains at large, police say.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A suspect who fired at Minneapolis police officers from a vehicle Monday afternoon remains at large, police say, with no arrests made more than 12 hours after the incident.
The shooting occurred around 3:15 p.m. near 36th Ave. N. and Penn Ave. N. in north Minneapolis. Officers were on patrol when a suspect fired at them from a nearby vehicle. Neither the officers nor their vehicle were hit, and officers did not return fire.
MPD deployed resources from all precincts along with other law enforcement partners to search for the suspect, described as a Black male in his late teens wearing a pink sweatshirt. The search prompted shelter-in-place and avoid-the-area alerts for the surrounding neighborhood. Both were lifted once the search concluded.

MPD said there is no ongoing safety risk to residents but asked the public to remain vigilant.
The MPD major crimes and forensics units responded to gather evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
