The chase started in Woodbury, where police say officers were called around 4 a.m. to the 2000 block of Lamplight Drive on a report of vehicle tampering. The first responding officer encountered the suspect vehicle and found that it was stolen. The officer tried to stop the car, but the vehicle sped off with a lone man behind the wheel.

Officers gave chase and were assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, which used stop sticks to deflate the car’s tires. Still, the man kept driving, leading officers along westbound Interstate 94 into Minneapolis.
