Twin Cities Metro Sees Its First Snow Of The Season: MN Weather

Drivers should be prepared for a slower commute Friday morning as wet snow falls across parts of the Twin Cities metro area.

TWIN CITIES, MN — Much of the Twin Cities metro woke up to the first snow of the season Friday morning. Drivers should be prepared for a slower commute.

"Areas along and north of I-94 could see some light slushy snow accumulate on grassy surfaces this morning," the National Weather Service said.

"Another round of rain/snow showers will develop this afternoon, but little if any accumulation is expected."

Friday: Rain likely, possibly mixed with snow showers, mainly after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. West northwest wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Friday Night: A chance of rain and snow showers before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 33. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 53. West southwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Northwest wind around 10 mph.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 42. Breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Blustery, with a north northwest wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.
