Victims Found Safe After Minneapolis Police Department Issues AMBER Alert

January 6, 2021 (MINNEAPOLIS) – Today at 12:35 pm, Minneapolis Police responded to the 2000 block of Grand St NE on a report of unknown trouble.

Officers arrived and spoke with multiple witnesses that state that a man, described as being light-complexioned African American adult, 5 feet 9 inches in height with a stocky build was in a verbal domestic with a female, believed to be in her 20s, and a 2 or 3 year old child. The suspect forced the woman and child into a car at gunpoint and fled the area northbound. It is reported that the female may have been injured.
The car is described as a 2015 Blue Mitsubishi Outlander bearing Minnesota Registration CCG 372.

This is not believed to be a random incident and is possibly domestic related.
Investigators from different units are assisting in this case and we have put an AMBER Alert out. We are not convinced that this vehicle remained in Minneapolis so we are asking that people across the metro be on the lookout. If you see this vehicle, please DO NOT APPROACH! Please call 911 immediately.
