The Vinyl Revival artist in residence this March-April is Maria Isa. Maria Isa is a singer, songwriter, rapper, actress and activist and local expert on Latinx music in the Twin Cities who has produced over fifteen independent music projects through her label SotaRico.

She has performed alongside and opened for artists such as The Roots, Bad Bunny, Common, Moby, Bomba Estereo, Sheila E, Kendrick Lamar, Wu Tang Clan, Las Cafeteras, Atmosphere, Pedrito Martinez, and many more. Her latest album "Sasa" is dedicated to her mother, women of color in politics and the future leaders of the world.

The listening room is located on the third floor of Minneapolis Central Library in room N-301. Reserve online or check in with staff at the third floor information desk to access the room.

  • Vinyl listening parties - Enjoy an afternoon of music where you pick the playlist spun by Vinyl Revival. Bring your own records or request songs from albums chosen by Vinyl Revival guest curator KITTO during this community-style listening session with fellow music lovers. Second Saturdays, 2-4 p.m., Minneapolis Central Library.

Vinyl Revival: The SotaRican Sofrito Mix

Join us for a special evening of music and conversation with Vinyl Revival Artist-in-Residence Maria Isa. She will perform a short set of original music joined by special guests followed by an important conversation about the history, contributions, and influence that Latinx music has had on the local music scene. At Minneapolis Central Library, Thursday, April 2, 6-7:30 p.m.
