The National Weather Service has released climate facts from the year that was 2022 in Minnesota.
MINNEAPOLIS — The average temperature in the Twin Cities metro area in 2022 was 46 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
That number is below the region's "normal," or long-term average temperature of 46.9 degrees.
Meanwhile, precipitation was "well below normal" in 2022, causing extreme drought conditions throughout the summer.

The Twin Cities metro saw just 22.97 inches of precipitation, which is down 8.65 inches from the normal of 31.62 inches.
The hottest air temperature in the metro was 101 degrees, and the coldest was 17 degrees below zero.
