Wind Chills Approach -30 Tuesday, Advisory Issued: MN Weather

MINNEAPOLIS — Bitter arctic air and wind gust will bring wind chills down to 30 degrees below zero on Tuesday in the Twin Cities metro area, according to the latest advisory from the National Weather Service.

"The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes," the NWS warned.

"Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves."

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 9. Wind chill values as low as -26. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around -1. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 19. Wind chill values as low as -12. South southwest wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 7. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming west after midnight.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 15. North northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around -12. North northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

Friday: Partly sunny and cold, with a high near 5. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.
