Green Line LRT trains to and from EP slated to start June 12, 2027 (eplocalnews.org) β Minnetonka residents are one step closer to boarding Green Line trains as officials announced the extension between Eden Prairie and downtown Minneapolis is slated to open to riders on June 12, 2027. The long-delayed, $2.86 billion project, backed by Minnetonka and other municipal partners, has faced cost overruns, lawsuits, and political scrutiny but is now reported to be about 98 percent complete.

Calls for unity and accountability during a gun violence community meeting in Edina (audacy.com) β A packed Edina community meeting on gun violence repeatedly referenced the recent shooting at Eden Prairie's homecoming football game against Minnetonka as part of a troubling pattern. City leaders stressed accountability and rejected racial framing, while residents pressed for clearer safety strategies and more arrests, with another feedback session planned at the Edina City Council.

Ramsey County launches task force to address youth violence (cbs3duluth.com) β A new Twin Cities task force is being formed after a shooting outside Eden Prairie's homecoming football game against Minnetonka left two people injured, though no students were involved. Ramsey County officials say a mobile group of several hundred youths, largely Somali, is tied to recent metro violence and argue coordinated policing is needed to curb further incidents.

Gladys Elaine Goede Marzahn, 93 (newpraguetimes.com) β Family and friends are remembering 93-year-old Gladys Elaine Goede Marzahn, a lifelong Methodist and devoted volunteer, with services this Saturday in Lakeville and Waterville. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Alzheimer's Association office in Minnetonka, offering a meaningful way for local residents to honor her life and support dementia research and care.
