Friends of H.O.M.E. Committee Member

Purpose:  To advise and assist with general promotion of the H.O.M.E. program and to help raise funds so as to support the organization’s mission and needs.

Mission:  The mission of H.O.M.E. is to help seniors remain independent in their homes by providing services they can no longer do.  H.O.M.E. is a program of Senior Community Services.  The mission of Senior Community Services is to develop, coordinate and provide services that help meet the needs of older adults and support their caregivers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Help communicate and promote the H.O.M.E. program to the community.
  2. Assist with raising funds, if appropriate.
  3. Be alert to community concerns that can be addressed by the H.O.M.E. program.
  4. Monitor Friends of H.O.M.E. finances.
  5. Stay informed about the H.O.M.E. program’s mission, services and activities.
  6. Suggest nominees to the Friends of H.O.M.E.
  7. Financially support the Friends of H.O.M.E. in a manner commensurate with one’s ability.
  8. Attend and participate in meetings on a monthly basis.

The general requirements for Friends of H.O.M.E. membership are a belief in the value of maintaining people independently in their home for as long as possible, a desire to promote the H.O.M.E. program to the community, a willingness to solicit donations from various sources and to regularly attend Friends of H.O.M.E. meetings.

We are looking for representatives from each city that H.O.M.E. serves, including Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina, Richfield, St. Louis Park, Brooklyn Center, Crystal, Golden Valley, Hopkins, Maple Grove, Minnetonka, New Hope, Plymouth, Robbinsdale & Wayzata.

The Friends of H.O.M.E. meet the 3rd Wednesday of the month (except July & December) at 11:30 a.m.
