Mini-Hops Girls Gymnasts Compete at the X-Factor

Mini-Hops girl’s Xcel gymnastics team competed in the 2^nd annual X-Factor Hosted by North Shore Gymnastics. Competition was held at the Mound Westonka High School in Mound. With over 500 gymnasts, initially the meet was slated to be at the North Shore facility; however with an overwhelming participation North Shore needed a larger facility to host the meet.

The Xcel gymnastics is a fairly new program designed to offer a broad-based, affordable competitive experience outside the traditional Jr. Olympic Program to attract and retain a diverse group of athletes.

Although in their 2^nd year Mini-Hops is aggressively building up their Xcel program in parallel with their Jr. Olympic teams.  Mini-Hops believe that the Xcel program is an ideal situation for those gymnasts who for some reason cannot commit to full Jr. Olympic schedule. 

 

Mini-Hops Gymnastics Bronze Girls Team

Coached by; John-Paul Singh, Courtney Johnson and Arianna Skoog.

Bronze girls competed according their age brackets (ie. – ages 6-8, 9, and 10+).

Emily S. (Plymouth, age 6-8) scored 9.050 and placed 12^th on vault, 8.200 and placed 12^th on uneven bars, 8.650 and placed 9^th on beam, 8.400 and placed 13^th on floor.  Her final score was 34.300 and placed 13^th on all-around.

Ellie A. (Plymouth, age 9) scored 8.900 and placed 11^th on vault, 9.300 and placed 5^th on uneven bars, 9.200 tied for 6^th on beam, 8.600 and placed 11^th on floor.  Her final score was 36.050 tied for 8^th on all-around.

Nichole M. (Plymouth, age 10+) scored 9.550 tied for 4^th on vault, 9.200 and placed 2^nd on uneven bars, 9.250 tied for 5^th on beam, 9.200 and placed 4^th on floor.  Her final score was 37.200 tied for 3^rd on all-around.

Hannah D. (Plymouth, age 10+) scored 9.700 and placed 2^nd on vault, 9.050 tied for 4^th on uneven bars, 8.800 and placed 9^th on beam, 9.100 tied for 5^th on floor.  Her final score was 36.650 and placed 6^th on all-around.

Elizabeth. (Plymouth, age 10+) scored 9.300 and placed 9^th on vault, 9.050 tied for 4^th on uneven bars, 9.00 and placed 8^th on beam, 9.000 and placed 9^th on floor.  Her final score was 36.350 and placed 8^th on all-around.

Overall team scored 111.600 to claim 4^th place.

Mini-Hops Gymnastics Silver Girls Team

Coached by; John-Paul Singh, Courtney Johnson and Arianna Skoog.

Silver girls competed according to their age brackets (ie. – ages 9, 10, 11+).

Erin P. (Edina, age 9) scored 8.750 and placed 14^th on vault, 8.400 and placed 14^th on uneven bars, 9.100 tied for 7^th on beam, 9.000 tied for 7^th on floor.  Her final score was 35.250 and placed 13^th on all-around.

Genevieve L. (Plymouth, age 10) scored 9.450 tied for 5^th on vault, 8.450 and placed 21^st on uneven bars, 9.400 tied for 3^rd on beam, 9.300 tied for 4^th on floor.  Her final score was 36.600 tied for 9^th on all-around.

Jessica B. (Wayzata, age 10) scored 9-450 tied for 5^th on vault, 9.200 tied for 7^th on uneven bars, 8.600 and placed 20^th on beam, 8.700 tied for 17^th on floor.  Her final score was 35.950 tied for 13^th on all-around.

Lauren W. (Plymouth, age 11+) scored 9.500 tied for 4^th on vault, 8.350 and placed 26^th on uneven bars, 9.300 tied for 6^th on beam, 9.200 and placed 10^th on floor.  Her final score was 36.350 and placed 12^th on all-around.

Abbie S. (Minnetonka, age 11+) scored 9.500 tied for 4^th on vault, 8.450 and placed 24^th on uneven bars, 8.300 tied for 22^nd on beam, 8.900 tied for 16^th on floor.  Her final score was 35.150 and placed 21^st on all-around.

Overall team scored 109.850 to claim 7^th place.

Mini-Hops Gymnastics Gold Girls Team

Gold girls competed according to their age brackets (ie. – ages 8-10, and 11).

Dayas H. (Medicine Lake, age 8-10) scored 8.500 tied for 7^th on vault, 7.400 and placed 12^th on uneven bars, 7.650 and placed 12^th on beam, 8.950 and placed 8^th on floor.  Her final score was 32.500 and placed 12^th on all-around.

Casia K. (Chanhassen, age 8-10) scored 8.500 and placed 12^th on vault, 8.500 tied for 7^th on uneven bars, 8.800 and placed 6^th on beam, 8.950 and placed 10^th on floor.  Her final score was 34.750 tied for 6^th on all-around.

Abigail McN. (Plymouth, age 8-10) scored 9.000 and placed 3^rd on vault, 7.700 and placed 12^th on uneven bars, 7.300 and placed 13^th on beam, 9.300 tied for 3^rd on floor.  Her final score was 33.300 and placed 13^th on all-around.

Overall team scored 100.550 to claim 7^th place.
