Vikings Lose to Bears in Season Finale; 2012 Season Preview
In the final game of the season, the Vikings lost 17-14 to the Chicago Bears, but showed glimmers of hope for next year.

The Minnesota Vikings lost to the Bears in the final game of the season, losing 17-14. This loss ended the Vikings season with a 3-13 record, giving them a draft pick in the first 5 picks in the NFL Draft. FULL HIGHLIGHTS HERE
The game began well for the Vikings, starting off scoring a touchdown and a field goal, giving the Vikings a 10-0 lead. In the 2nd quarter, the Bears dominated and scored 14 points compared to the Vikings 3, giving the Bears a 14-13 halftime lead. Also in the 2nd quarter, Christian Ponder got hurt when he was hit and landed on his (already injured) hip. Joe Webb replaced him and remained the QB the rest of the game. After a scoreless 3rd quarter, the Bears kicked in a field goal, giving them a 17-13 lead. With less than 2 minutes left, the Vikings were trying to engineer a comeback, but Joe Webb was intercepted and the Vikings lost the game.
Joe Webb is a better QB than Christian Ponder with our Offensive Line. Christian Ponder may be better when he has time to throw, but given the Vikings current team, Joe Webb is better. Webb's running ability and mostly accurate passing makes him a challenge to any defense. Webb can evade pressure and throw reasonably well. But in every game Webb has played in, the Vikings offense looks better than when Ponder is playing. I really do think that Leslie Frazier is making a big mistake in keeping Christian Ponder as the starter every week. He should trade Christian Ponder and try to develop Joe Webb. Or the Vikings draft a QB in the Draft.

Toby Gerhardt looked good and he looks like he could even be a starting RB for someone! He really has filled in well for Adrian Peterson and proved to be a very good aquisition.
Hopefully the Vikings can get a stadium bill done by the time the Vikings season begins next year.
