Kick off the Year of the Horse with Hennepin County Library and Asian communities of the Twin Cities at free family Asian New Year events beginning in January and running through April.
The first event of the series will take place Saturday, Jan. 25, at 10:30 a.m., at Brooklyn Park Community Activity Center.
Subsequent events will take place at various Hennepin County libraries: Augsburg Park, Hopkins, Hosmer, Northeast, Oxboro, Plymouth, St. Louis Park and Sumner.

Asian New Year events will highlight the cultures of Vietnam, India, China and Thailand, and include participatory dancing, music, arts, storytelling and more. Families are welcome to attend in traditional clothing.
Events are funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. They are presented in collaboration with Brooklyn Park Community Engagement Initiative Diversity Team, Hoang Anh Dance Group, Hung Vuong Association of Minnesota and Iny Asian Dance Group.
