Dear You: Messages From Your Heart Book Launch October 11, 2014

Your Art’s Desire Gallery announces its first multi-disciplinary art opening. Art lovers, gift-seekers and anyone interested in attending the art show and book launch can explore art that opens the heart and inspires creativity.

Award-winning writer, speaker and mixed-media artist, Jacquelyn Fletcher, launches her newest book, Dear You: Messages From Your Heart. To complement the poignant messages from the book, gallery owners Melissa Williamson-Herren and Ken Herren have invited 14 artists to display work inspired by Fletcher’s words. Dear You is a series of insightful, hand-stamped letters addressed to “Dear You” from the tender yet pragmatic and sometimes challenging character “Your Heart.” Each short letter in the series delivers a powerful message of courage, hope and love on a variety of topics that span the entire spectrum of the human experience.

The event is the perfect place to find gifts with heart so shoppers can get a jump on the holidays. The show includes art in a wide variety of mediums including oil and acrylic paintings, sculpture, mosaic, textile, fused glass on copper, ceramic, and pastel.

About the Author

Jacquelyn B. Fletcher is a mixed media artist, speaker and award-winning author whose works have appeared in media outlets around the world. She’s the author of A Career Girl’s Guide to Becoming a Stepmom (HarperCollins) and the co-author of Climbing the Mountain: Stories of Hope and Healing After Stroke and Brain Injury (Fairview Press) and Cancer Widow (Devlin Publishing). Jacquelyn is also the co-creator and host of the Healing Words television show and a founding faculty member of the Creative Writing at the Bedside program, both administered by the Mayo Clinic Dolores Jean Lavins Center for Humanities in Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota.
