
This summer, RELATE Counseling Center will be offering Nutrition Detectives Boot Camp for 2nd-4th grade children. The program will include 2 groups for children on July 23rd and July 25th, 3:00 - 5:00pm and one optional follow up discussion for parents to review all the healthy information your child has learned on July 25th, 5:00 - 5:30pm.
Nutrition Detectives is an innovative nutrition program designed to teach elementary students to be nutrition-savvy! The program was developed by Yale Griffin Prevention Research Center Director, Dr. David Katz, MD, MPH, FACPM, FACP and Dr. Catherine Katz, PhD. It offers 5 simple clues to examine food products and decide whether they are healthful choices based on the Nutrition Facts labels and ingredients list. The program uses colorful visual images, food demonstrations, and hands-on activities with real food packages to convey its message.
