On Being a College Athlete

Students who have an interest in playing sports in college are encouraged to attend a special program scheduled for Wednesday night, May 30, at 7:00 in the MHS Forum. The program is called BEING A COLLEGE ATHLETE. The panelists will include several MHS alumni, all of whom are currently playing sports at the Division I or Division III level. The panelists include:

Beau Allen, football at the University of Wisconsin, Madison
Jen Friedlander, swimming at Middlebury College
Julie Friend, hockey at St. Cloud State University
Justin Holl, hockey at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
Katy Winge, basketball at Illinois State University

They will be talking about time management, athletic practice and game schedules, NCAA eligibility policies, and how much they have benefited by being a student athlete in college! Their presentation on Wednesday night, May 30, is intended for students at Minnetonka HS; parents are also invited to attend.
