
On Tuesday, May 7 resilience expert Dr. Steven Southwick will visit The Marsh to present "Resilience: How to Bounce Back from Loss and Continue to Grow." Dr. Southwick is co-author of "Resilience: The Science of Mastering Life's Greatest Challenges" and he's a Professor of Psychiatry, PTSD and Resilience at Yale University School of Medicine and at the Yale Child Study Center. He has worked more than two decades with trauma survivors.
In his lecture he'll discuss effective coping strategies used by highly resilient individuals to deal with, overcome and grow from adversity. He will also present recent research that supports the use of these strategies, as well as practical approaches for increasing one's own resilience.
