With 29 teams and over 160 girls at the level 7 State Gymnastics Championships, the four Mini-Hops girls performed better than expected. Lessons learned this season will be a pathway for these girls to prepare for next year’s competition.
The State Championships is the furthest girls optional gymnasts competing in levels 6 and 7 can attend. Individuals who compete in the level 8 State Championships can qualify (with a minimal predetermined all-around score) to compete at the Junior Olympics Regionals. Level 9’s can also progress to regionals and as far as Western Championships. Level 10’s having the same opportunities, however capable of going to the National Junior Olympics Championships.
Congratulations to Alyssa N. who competed in her first year as a level 9 and will be competing regional championships in April.

Mini-Hops Gymnastics Level 7 Girls Team
All gymnasts competed as a team, however individually competed against each other by age group for awards. The age brackets were (11 and under, 12 and 13+). Scores on each event are compiled to total team scores

Top score for age 12 was Susanna F. (Minnetonka) scored 8.425 and placed 57th on vault, 8.525 and place 24th on uneven bars, 9.450 and placed 12th on beam, 9.175 and tied for 28th on floor. Final score of 35.575 and placed 26th on all-around.
Claire M. (St. Louis Park, age 12) scored 8.550 and tied for 54th on vault, 8.350 and tied for 30th on uneven bars, 9.150 and tied for 27th on beam, 9.275 and tied for 20th on floor. Final score of 35.325 and placed 33rd on all-around.
Ellie S. (Plymouth, age 12) scored 8.225 and placed 59th on vault, 8.775 and placed 18th on uneven bars, 7.650 and placed 58th on beam, 8.850 and placed 54th on floor. Final score of 33.500 and placed 54th on all-around.
Top score for age 13+ was Chelsea L. (Mound) scored 8.725 and placed 29th on vault, 8.625 and placed 14th on uneven bars, 8.725 and tied for 18th on beam, 9.375 and tied for 10th on floor. Final score of 35.450 and placed 19th on all-around.
Team acquired a score of 106.775 to take a 18th place standing.

Alyssa N. (Minnetonka, age 16+), scored 8.925 and placed 13th on vault, 8.425 and placed 10th on uneven bars, 8.025 and tied for 18th on beam, 8.875 and tied for 15th on floor. Final score of 34.250 and placed 11th on all-around.
