MINNETONKA JEWELER TO EXHIBIT AT THE THIRD AMERICAN FINE CRAFT SHOW BROOKLYN AT BROOKLYN MUSEUM NOVEMBER 21-22, 2015
Jeweler Beth Farber's work exemplifies the use of jewel tones, a trend at this year's craft show at Brooklyn Museum
Whether gemstones, coral or polymer, jewel tones from nature will punctuate the display cases of many of the 19 jewelry designers at the third American Fine Craft Show Brooklyn at Brooklyn Museum November 21-21, 2015. And Beth Farber, whose studio is in Minnetonka, is one of the hand-picked exhibitors.
A necklace informed by the deep sea, in brilliant turquoise, is Beth Farber’s “Seascape,” hand-woven with apatite, a boulder opal and gold. She describes her work as a jewelry designer: “I create unique works of art that are soft and sensuous, whose movement and texture seduce the wearer. My work combines the ancient with the contemporary. Adapting ancient bead weaving techniques, I hand-weave fine gemstones, silver and gold, with a contemporary sensibility and edge.”
Jewelry, along with handmade work of 71 fashion designers and artisans of home accents, will fill the regal Beaux-Arts Court in time for holiday shopping.
