Minnetonka’s Lakes Entertainment to Open New Casino in Maryland
The company aims to open Rocky Gap Casino Resort on Wednesday.

Minnetonka-based Lakes Entertainment Inc. is on the verge of opening Maryland’s fourth casino, the York Dispatch reported Tuesday.
The company aims to open Rocky Gap Casino Resort, located 130 miles west of Baltimore, on Wednesday through its Evitts Resort LLC subsidiary. Opening is contingent on approval by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency.
The company acquired the property in August 2012 and announced plans for the casino expansion, according to the company’s website. The casino will have 558 slot machines and 10 table games.
