Minnetonka Set To Play For Tennis Consolation Title
The Skippers lost to Mayo, beat Brainerd on Tuesday at the Class AA meet
The Minnetonka girls tennis team went 1-1 on the first day of the Class AA state tournament at the University of Minnesota Baseline Tennis Center.
The Skippers opened up play with a 5-2 loss to Rochester Mayo in the championship quarterfinals, then followed it up with a 7-0 win over Brainerd in the consolation semifinals. Minnetonka will play Mounds View at 12 p.m. on Wednesday for the consolation championship.
Mayo advanced to take on Rosemount in the championship semifinals at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. The winner will play for the title at 4 p.m., while the loser will play for third place at 2 p.m.
