Outreach Food Packaging Event

On Saturday, April 5, 2014, from 9:00am until 4:00pm, the Minnetonka Rotary, along with the Hopkins Rotary, Golden Valley Rotary, St. Louis Park Noon Rotary, and St. Louis Park Sunrise Rotary clubs will provide volunteers working at the Eisenhower Community Center, 1001 Hi-way 7 in Hopkins.  They will be working in the auditorium, that day, with equipment to seal and package 50,000 meals.

This Outreach Food Packaging Event is being sponsored by these five rotary clubs with the help of matching funds from Rotary District 5950 to cover the costs of these meals.  Both Beans and Rice and Macaroni and Cheese dried meals will be packaged.  These Rotary Clubs will each have 10,000 of these meals that they will be distributing for such things as disaster relief, food banks, schools, food shelves, and other deserving organizations.

The ingredients, packaging equipment, packaging supplies and training will be provided by OUTREACH.  You can find out more information at www.outreachprogram.org

Rotary is an organization that believes in Service Above Self.  If you are reading this and you want to help be part of the solution in the world, we can put you to work helping us to accomplish this worthwhile project.  Although these 50,000 meals won’t solve all the worlds problems they will solve 50,000 problems.  You don’t need to spend all day, but  feel free to come and spend as much time as you can packaging meals.
