Places to Swim in Minnetonka: Minnetonka Aquatics Center

This is the fourth in a series of articles on the best places to swim in Minnetonka.

The $6.1 million home of Minnetonka High School's swimming and diving teams, known as the Minnetonka Aquatics Center, also offers a variety of recreational swimming activities for children and adults.

“The Minnetonka Aquatics Center (and Middle School West pools) are great options for summer time swimming," said Ben Bartell, Minnetonka Aquatics Director. "Each offers something for every age, ability and interest. Since our pools are indoors, you can swim rain or shine."

The Aquatics Center features a competition pool and a competition-standard diving well with two diving boards and extra starting blocks.

In addition to open swim opportunities, Minnetonka school officials say the facility offers a variety of classes and activities for kids and adults such as; Learn-to-Swim classes, Intro to Fitness Swimming and the Minnetonka Swim Club competitive swim team.

"A lot of young kids, they come in and see either the top Swim Club kids or the high school programs that are in here, and I know that that's pretty exciting for them," said Dan Berve, an assistant coach with the Minnetonka Swim Club.
