UnitedHealth Group Climbs Five Spots on Fortune 500
The Minnetonka-based company was ranked 17th on this year's list.

Minnetonka-based UnitedHealth Group is once again the highest-ranked Minnesota company on the Fortune 500 list.
The company came in at 17th on this year’s list, which was released Monday. It posted $110.6 billion in revenues for the relevant time period—51 percent greater than 36th-ranked Target, the next biggest Minnesota company on the list.
That’s also $9 billion greater than the $101.9 billion revenues that UHG tallied in last year’s list. Those gains helped the company climb five spots from the 22nd-place ranking it had in 2012.

Fortune noted that UHG’s membership grew 6 percent—thanks in large part to its acquisition of XLHealth, a provider of Medicare Advantage plans, and Amil, Brazil’s largest health insurer.
