Moorhead police searching for missing 33-year-old woman (inforum.com) — Moorhead police are asking residents to help locate 33-year-old Brianna Bagnall, who last spoke with her family on August 26 and was reported missing on September 27. She is described as white, 5-foot-8, about 140 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information is urged to call the Red River Regional Dispatch Center.
2. Moorhead sets tax rate ceiling at 4.4% for 2027 (inforum.com) — Moorhead homeowners face a potential 4.36% property tax rate increase for 2027 after the City Council set a preliminary levy of $28.8 million. Officials stress this is a ceiling they hope to reduce before final approval in December, with most new spending tied to existing wage and benefit obligations and no added staff positions.
3. Moorhead to record City Council workshops moving forward (inforum.com) — Moorhead residents will soon be able to watch City Council workshops, as council members voted to begin recording and sharing these in-depth discussions with the public. Unlike regular meetings, workshops haven't previously been broadcast, despite covering key city issues. Supporters say the change will boost transparency, reduce confusion, and give residents better access to unbiased information.
4. FDA Announces Massive Brown and Powdered Sugar Recall in Eight States—Here's Everything You Need to Know (goodhousekeeping.com) — Residents should check any Crystal Sugar powdered sugar in large 25‑pound bags, since some lots distributed by a Moorhead-based company are being recalled for possible wheat contamination that can trigger serious allergic reactions. The recall also affects certain United and Good & Gather sugars sold in Minnesota and seven other states, so compare your package's brand, size, and batch number before using it.
