After shopping with my 73 year old dad from Rochester for 2 hours, through 7 stores around Northfield, he found pants he thought would be suitable for his wife's birthday. He couldn't decide on what size to get, so I suggested he buy both pair and I could return a pair or both if neither of them worked. My dad thought it was a great idea, as did the employee that helped us. We were all happy and we left with smiles. I tried to return the pants for him 2 days later, and they told me that my dad could only get in store credit. My argument was that the sales associate should have told us that when she agreed our plan was a good idea. I talked with two employees and eventually the owner. They all told me how sorry they were, but they would not fix the disagreement. I thought small local stores were supposed to give service that big stores don't. What I learned is that they are only concerned about the money and not customer satisfaction. Unfortunate really as we tried to shop local and ended up getting burned.
