9/11 Remembrance Set for Sunday in Northfield

The event will start shortly after 7:30 a.m. Sunday at Riverside Lions Park.

It's been nearly 10 years since the United States changed forever following terrorist attacks on American soil.

In remembrance of 9/11, Northfielders will gather together at 7:40 a.m. Sunday for a ceremony at . At 7:46 a.m.—the time the first of two planes flew into the World Trade Center in New York—the American flag will be raised at the park. All flags should be raised to half-staff that day, according to .

Murphy said the ceremony will be brief, not expected to last more than 30 minutes. The ceremony will include a prayer, a song, a guest speaker and a 21-gun salute.
