The COVID-19 pandemic continues to present unprecedented and evolving challenges not only to our State, but to our City operations. To meet the current requirements in the Governor’s Executive Orders and to provide for the safety and welfare of our staff and for candidates, the following changes are being made to the filing process:
- Appointments are required if you would like to file in-person. This may include filing “curbside” depending on the status of access to the facility. Please contact City Clerk Deb Little via email, email Deb Little, or via phone at 507-645-3001, to schedule an appointment. Candidates will be asked to:
- Stay home if they are ill (file using an alternate method)
- Wear a mask while in the building
- Maintain at least 6 feet of distance from others
- Alternative methods of filing may be needed. These include:
- Placing filing documents in the drop box at the Washington Street entrance at City Hall. Envelope must be clearly marked Attn: Deb Little and note filing documents enclosed
- Mail filing documents to Deb Little, City of Northfield, 801 Washington St., Northfield, MN 55057
Please note that no matter which filing method is used, documents must be notarized, filing fee, and documents received no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. Documents submitted after this time will not be accepted.
