Allina Volunteers Pack Meals for CAC

Employees of Allina Medical Clinic-Northfield and their families packed 730 meals last Saturday that were donated to Northfield's Community Action Center.
The local effort was part of Allina Health’s Neighborhood Health Connection, which sought to package 100,000 healthy meals for neighbors in needs.
The Northfield clinic was one of 41 Allina Health locations taking part in the volunteer effort.
Employees and their families worked in two-hour shifts on Saturday morning to assemble meal packages that contained food, a healthy eating guide and a greeting card. The packages were boxed, then dropped off at the CAC on Monday.
According to an Allina media release, the goal of the Neighborhood Health Connection “is to help people make new personal connections and strengthen existing ones through healthy activities. More than 50 years of research shows people with strong community connections and positive social support are healthier and happier.”
