St. Olaf welcomes the Class of 2030 (stolaf.edu) β St. Olaf College in Northfield has just welcomed 844 first-year and 29 transfer students for the Class of 2030, bringing new energy and families into town. Most students come from outside Minnesota, with record levels of first-generation and domestic students of color, and they're settling in through orientation events, welcome ceremonies, and campus traditions that will ripple into the wider Northfield community.

New audio brings the 1876 bank raid to life at this year's Defeat of Jesse James Days (southernminn.com) β Defeat of Jesse James Days in downtown Northfield is adding a dramatic new audio track that lets crowds hear what the 1876 bank raid may have sounded like from inside the First National Bank. Organizers are also debuting a Joseph Lee Heywood-themed Horseshoe Hunt and limited-edition trading cards that raise money for the Northfield History Center's restoration fund.

Northfield Earns Highest GreenStep Recognition for Sustainability Efforts (kymnradio.net) β Northfield has just earned the highest possible recognition in Minnesota's GreenStep Cities program, confirming years of work to cut energy use and boost sustainability. City staff say these efforts support Northfield's Comprehensive and Climate Action plans, aiming to reduce emissions, improve efficiency, and better prepare the community for climate impacts residents will feel locally.
