
Anna Christina Prochaska Swanson Wahl was born July 24, 1914, in Chicago, Illinois, to Anthony and Emilie (Blaha) Prochaska. She graduated from Chicago Harrison High School in 1932 and after her education worked for the Florsheim Shoe Company. She married Clarence Swanson on January 11, 1936, in Chicago. After marriage they made their home in Chicago until moving to Evansville, Wisconsin, in 1952. Clarence passed away in July 1953. In 1954, Anna moved her family to Albany, Wisconsin. There she worked several years for her brother-in-law, Dr. Bongiorno, doing a little bit of everything at his clinic. She married Homer Wahl on November 15, 1963, in Brodhead, Wisconsin. Homer passed away in 1967. In 1975, Anna moved to Whitewater and in 1976 to Stoughton, Wisconsin. While living in Stoughton she assisted her son and daughter-in-law at their day care center. In 1996, she moved to Cannon Falls, Minnesota, to be near her daughter Jeanne. Anna had been a resident of the Northfield Retirement Community since 2007. Anna enjoyed reading, crafts, sports (especially the Cubs) and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children: Ronald and wife Jean Swanson of Madison, Wisconsin, Robert Swanson of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Janet and husband Rudy Scharnweber of Port Washington, Wisconsin, Jeanne and husband Ron Dosedel of Randolph, Minnesota; 9 grandchildren, 13½ great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two husbands, her parents, her sister Helen Bongiorno and her brothers Edward, Anthony and Robert Prochaska.
Anna passed away with her children by her side on Thursday morning, April 25, 2013, in the Northfield Hospital, at the age of 98.

Grave side services will held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Evansville, Wisconsin.
Memorials are preferred to the Northfield Retirement Community.
