David John “Twink” Hollinger, 61

David John “Twink” Hollinger was born January 17, 1952, in Northfield to John “Ozzie” and Dorothy (Berens) Hollinger.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church and graduated from Northfield High School in 1970.  In May 1972, he joined the US Army and spent time stationed in Okinawa.  He married Marilyn Moe on December 30, 1972, at the Methodist Church in Northfield.  Following his honorable discharge in May 1974, he returned to Northfield.  For the past 5 years he has been the facilities manager for Service Master by Ayotte.

Twink was a life member of the Northfield Eagle’s Club and a social member of the Northfield VFW.  He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and gardening.  He was caring, social, outgoing and a wonderful husband and father.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Marilyn; 3 children Adam, Ben and Erin, all of Northfield; one grandson, Dexter; 2 sisters: Lanee (Dick) Rowell of Downsville, Wisconsin, Donna Hollinger of Cannon Falls; his in-laws, Donna and Bill Yates of Henderson, Nevada; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Vionnette and his brother Larry.

Twink passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, May 15, 2013, in Northfield, at the age of 61.

A celebration of Twink’s life will begin at 3PM on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the VFW in Northfield.
