
Eleanor Prudence Polasik was born May 19, 1919, in Little Falls, Minnesota, to Peter and Martha (Kliber) Posch. She attended St. Francis High School and after her education worked for Munsingwear in Minneapolis. She married Louis Polasik October 2, 1944, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls. After marriage they lived in Flensburg until moving to New Brighton in 1955. In 1970, they moved to Baxter and in 1981, to their home on Sugar Lake at Glen. In 1991, they moved to Aiken and Louis passed away in 1992. Following his death Eleanor moved to Farmington to be near her family. She has been a resident of the Northfield Retirement Community since 2004. Eleanor enjoyed being busy – doing ceramics, knitting, gardening. She was quick witted, had a good sense of humor and was dedicated to her children and family.
Survivors include her children: John (Nancy) of Farmington, Thomas (Dianne) of Stillwater, Mary Jo (Bruce) Rawlings of Greenfield; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Sylvia Chock and Lucille Ross; 2 brothers, James and Leonard Posch; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her infant daughter LuAnne, her parents, her sister Clara Dickerson, and her brothers Clarence and Raymond Posch.
Eleanor passed away Thursday morning, May 16, 2013, at the Care Center of the Northfield Retirement Community, at the age of 93.

Memorial services are pending at the Chapel of the Northfield Retirement Community. Interment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
