Lynne Young has been the Northfield Public Library Director for 28 years, ever since the 1985 addition was built onto the original 1910 Carnegie Library. She has developed the programs, services and resources, including access to the Internet which did not exist in 1985, until the library is bursting at the seams and still growing!
Now she plans to retire and read those books and blogs that haven't fit into her work schedule. The Library Board and the Friends and Foundation of the Northfield Public Library are hosting several parties to celebrate Lynne's outstanding service to the community. Everyone is invited to:
- Tuesday, Jan. 29, 7 PM at the library: Lynne's favorite Minnesota mystery author William Kent Krueger will speak; light refreshments will be served.
