Spaces Still Available for River Bend’s Summer Camps

River Bend Nature Center in Faribault, MN has spaces available for participants in its summer camps which begin in June and continue through August. Half-day classes are offered for children beginning at three and four years of age. Preschoolers can participate in “Puddles & Ponds” in which they will use their senses to play in water to discover the plants and animals that make their home in wetlands. Preschoolers can also participate in “Nature Pals” in which campers will visit forest, prairie, and pond to learn about the variety of plants and animals that call River Bend home. Preschoolers can attend camp on their own or be accompanied by an adult.

River Bend also has multiple half-day camp sessions for elementary school-aged children in which campers can learn about any number of nature topics from “Animal Olympians” to “Fishin’ for Fun” to “Radical Reptiles”. A returning favorite for children ages six to nine years old is “Ramblin’ at River Bend”, a full-day camp where campers get to choose what they learn about each day. One morning may be spent discovering pond life; prowling in the prairie could be the topic for a whole day. It all depends on the interests of the campers, they supply the ideas and River Bend will supply the leaders, tools, resources, and fun.
