SummerVentures is KidVentures’ popular summer program for kids entering grades 1 through 7, and is now open for registration. SummerVentures has proven to be both a fun and quality summer opportunity for kids wanting to explore new interests, learn new skills and develop new friendships in a safe and nurturing environment. The program is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, from June 10 to Aug. 23, and is located at Greenvale Park Elementary School this summer. A bonus week has also been added at the NCRC Building from Aug. 26 - Aug. 29. There are various care offerings to help accommodate parent schedules, including half-day, full-day and drop-in options.
All SummerVentures week-long camps have fun themes like Little Artists, Rockstars, Animal Planet or Ooey Gooey, and offer afternoon swimming sessions. Exciting ‘field trip Fridays’ are also a big hit including visits to locations like Sky Zone, Vertical Endeavors, Cascade Bay and the Steppingstone Theatre. For older children there is the choice driven, TweenVentures youth program for incoming 5th – 7th graders. Not only does the TweenVentures program help cultivate a sense of independence, but pre-teens also have an opportunity to develop new leadership skills, interests and hobbies within their group of peers. Katie Valek, KidVentures Coordinator says, “Many parents have mentioned how the TweenVentures program provides a great opportunity for their children entering middle school to meet new friends from other schools in the area.” This year the ‘tweens’ will be in charge of caring for a plot in the Northfield Community Garden at Greenvale Park, as part of their service-learning opportunity.
Pricing varies from $18 per day to $35 per day depending on different schedules and options preferred.
