Auditions and Tech Interviews for Purple Door Youth Theater
Purple Door Youth Theater is a new tuition-and-audition based educational theater company for young people in grades 2-12.
The Northfield Arts Guild Theater is excited to announce Purple Door Youth Theater. PDYT is a new tuition-and-audition based educational theater company for young people grades 2-12. Each Purple Door Youth Theater session provides both a full scale production and classes. Highly qualified instructors teach acting, technical and administrative theater lessons, personal character skills, and provide hands-on-theater experiences. Students will be involved with every aspect of producing a show from designing and building, to performing, to marketing and ushering.
Auditions and student technician interviews for our first production Alice @ Wonderland are scheduled for Sunday, November 2 and Monday, November 3. Call the Arts Guild at 507-645-8877 to schedule a 30 minute appointment between 6:00 and 7:30 pm. If Sunday or Monday is not feasible for your family, please check with the Arts Guild for an alternative audition time prior to November 4. Auditions and Interviews will be held at the Northfield Arts Guild Theater, 411 W. Third Street. Look for the Purple Door!
Purple Door Youth Theater auditions are open to all youth, grades 2 - 12. Acting auditioners should prepare a nursery rhyme to be recited or read at auditions. There will also be some reading from the script.

Technician interviews do not require preparation. PDYT will be looking for students who are enthusiastic about participating and ready to do their own personal best.
For auditions/interviews, parents are asked to bring along a calendar of any conflict dates/times from November 17 through January 18. Once students are committed to this production, participation (other than during these previously listed conflicts) is critical.

Purple Door Youth Theatre is tuition based since in addition to a full-scale production; all students will participate in training with top notch instructors.
Classes/rehearsals will begin November 17. Students will take breaks for the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year holidays (no rehearsals/classes Dec 19-Jan 4). Actors/technicians will only be called to rehearsal as needed. Performances are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 16-18, 2015 at the Northfield Arts Guild Theater.
