Bands Head to Worship: Vintage Band Festival Day 4

Sunday is the final day of the four-day festival.

The music of the Vintage Band Festival goes to church on Sunday morning.

Several of the bands that have performed at venues in and around Northfield the past several days will be taking their talents into sanctuaries.

Churches hosting bands include Bethel Lutheran Church, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, First United Church of Christ, Northfield United Methodist Church, Emmaus Church, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Main Street Moravian Church and St. Dominic Catholic Church in Northfield; First Lutheran Church of St. Peter; and Ellm Lutheran Church of Scandia.

Sunday is the final day of the festival. A post-festival event, featuring the Originial Drachenfelser Musikanten of Germany, is planned at John Burch Park in Cannon Falls at 7 p.m. Monday.

Each day of the festival, Northfield Patch will feature a schedule of events and other helpful information for residents and visitors who plan to attend. We also will post photos and videos of performances here and on our Facebook page.

USEFUL INFORMATION

WHAT IS THE VINTAGE BAND FESTIVAL—The Vintage Band Festival is a four-day international music event that celebrates the music and the instruments of past eras. More than 30 bands from across Minnesota and around the world will perform roughly 100 concerts at venues in and around Northfield.

ADMISSION—Admission to the concerts will be free, but donations will be accepted to offset expenses. Tickets for several special events—among them the German Food and Music at the Northfield Senior Center on Aug. 4 and the Vaudeville Entertainment and Silent Moving Pictures show on Aug. 4—are available at the festival headquarters in Bridge Square.
