9:15am-3pm Meet at First UCC to join others from the church for a tree planting at Riverbend Nature Center. Meet at 9:15 to Car pool.

4:00-5:00p.m.-“Organics Recycling for Northfield” at the Weitz Center. Join the conversation and bring your questions and insights to this forum. Hosted by Environmental Studies students at Carleton. Come learn about curbside organic composting and what it could look like in Northfield.
5:30p.m- Bring the whole family to a free delicious soup supper and potluck at the Weitz Center (320 3rd St. E.)
6:15p.m-“The Politics of Consumption and the Pursuit of Solidarity: the New Climate Justice Agenda”
Keynote by Dave Snyder from MN 350- as well as local sustainability updates.
There will be childcare provided during the presentation with earth-friendly games and activities.
7:15-8:00 p.m. Local Musical Performances

*Help build a ‘Free food-help yourself’ raised bed for the community
*Go on a tour of a couple homes in NF that have gone solar!
*Learn about the benefits of planting native grasses/plants in your yard
*Experience some of the basics of food preservation by making sauerkraut (First UCC)
*Learn how to make fresh goat cheese and yogurt in your kitchen (First UCC)
*Pursue your dreams and create a more sustainable lifestyle.(First UCC)
*Kid Art- Don’t TRASH the earth (First UCC)
