Inspired by The Runaways, the Rebel Queens are a high-energy all-female band performing all the classic punk and rock favorites from the 70s, 80s and 90s. “I am so excited that the Rebel Queens will be appearing at this year’s Girls Nite Out,” says Jessica Paxton, KYMN Radio DJ and music columnist for Southern Minn ‘Scene’ magazine. “They are going to bring on the GIRL POWER. Think Joan Jett, The Ramones, Bowie, Blondie, Kiss, ACDC, Cheap Trick—all the guilty pleasures. Ladies, get ready to ROCK!” Find the band online at www.rebelqueens.com.
As in previous years, proceeds from the event will be donated to area charitable organizations. This year, a portion of the Girls Nite Out proceeds will again be donated to Ruth's House of Hope in Faribault, which serves women and children throughout Rice County. For more information, visit their website at www.ruthshousemn.org.
Wristbands (required for in-store treats and specials, as well as admittance to the VIP party at the Grand) will be distributed beginning at 4:30 p.m. at a Girls Nite Out registration table set up by the Northfield Public Library on the corner of Third and Division Streets. In previous years, registration has been held on Bridge Square; please note this location is being changed.
