The Tassava family have visited the Northfield city pool almost every day this summer. I've been there with the girls at least three times a week since June, and Shannon goes just as often - or more, since we're often there together. All these visits mean that the girls have spent a ton of time in the water since June, and it shows: they love swimming or splashing or just horsing around, and they've had no end of fun by themselves, with each other, and with their friends - a half-dozen of whom seem to be at the pool anytime we're there.
All that's great, of course, but the best part of the summer at the pool has been the Sunday picnic dinners that were the brainchild of another mom. I don't think we've missed more than one or two of these since June, and we've loved spending time with the other families and their kids. The girls look forward to it all week, and frankly so do I, since it's one of the few times I get to talk with non-colleague friends all week.
The main event, of course, is all the time in the water - swimming, playing, soaking up the sun and the air. Looking forward to another month (or even more, if the weather holds) more of these Sunday pool picnics, I can already say that they'll be one of my best memories of the summer.
