Buckthorn is an invasive species of shrub, choking out
native trees and shrubs. The teachers at Sibley School use the Sibley
Marsh and Prairie Land for environmental education with their classes.
By coming out and pulling out the buckthorn, we can create a much better habitat for the plants and wildlife.
What to bring: gardening gloves, drinking water, and if you have these: weed wrench and hand saw
Wear long pants and long sleeves. (Since it will be chilly, this is probably not going to be an issue!)
