Call For Artists In Northfield

The Northfield Art & Culture Committee is inviting local artists to share two-dimensional and three-dimensional works made in response to the events of the past year by February 22 to be featured in an art exhibit at City Hall.

Submissions can include those made as a means to help cope with uncertain circumstances, works which explore politically or socially engaged themes, or new techniques and materials discovered while in isolation.

Two-dimensional artworks can include collage, print, painting, photography, and mixed media. All art must be framed and/or completely ready for installation, with correct mounting hardware affixed to the back of the piece. Artists can submit up to three works of art. Artists must 18 years of age or older and live or work within the Northfield School District.

The exhibit, called Artists Respond,opens March 5 and goes through the end of the year. The artwork will be displayed throughout the first floor of Northfield City Hall.

El Comité de Arte y Cultura de Northfield invita a los artistas locales a compartir obras bidimensionales y tridimensionales realizadas en respuesta a los acontecimientos del año pasado antes del 22 de febrero para ser presentadas en una exposición de arte en la alcaldía.

Se pueden presentar obras que han ayudado al artista hacer frente a circunstancias inciertas, obras que exploren temas políticos o socialmente comprometidos, o nuevas técnicas y materiales descubiertos durante el aislamiento.

Las obras de arte bidimensionales pueden incluir el collage, la impresión, la pintura, la fotografía y los medios mixtos. Todas las obras de arte deben estar enmarcadas y/o completamente preparadas para su instalación, con los accesorios de montaje correctos colocados en la parte posterior de la pieza. Los artistas pueden presentar hasta tres obras de arte. Los artistas deben ser mayores de 18 años y vivir o trabajar en el distrito escolar de Northfield.

La exposición, denominada Artists Respond (los artistas responden),se inicia el 5 de marzo y se prolongará hasta finales del año. Las obras se expondrán en la primera planta de la alcaldía de Northfield.
