WINGS (Women In Northfield Giving Support) will be hosting its annual membership event Thursday, Oct. 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Village on the Cannon, 301 W. Seventh St., Northfield.
The event, which is open to the public, will allow potential members to hear about the work of WINGS in Northfield and meet members of the organization. It will also be an opportunity to express gratitude to all those who have assisted WINGS in its mission of helping women and children in Northfield through philanthropy. The event will also recognize Beth Berry and the TORCH program (Tackling Obstacles, Raising College Hopes) for the innovative work that’s been done to help improve the graduation rates of low-income and minority students in Northfield.
This event will be fun, casual and a chance to learn more about WINGS, which is a grassroots network of hundreds of women who donate together to improve the lives of women and children in Northfield. It has grown to be the second-largest local grantor, giving more than $592,000 since 2000 to local non-profit organizations. It is open to all women.
