Driver Going 100 MPH Had Unbelted 6-Year-Olds In Back: MSP
Authorities say the vehicle was clocked at 100 mph on Interstate 94 in central Minnesota while 6-year-old twins were in the car.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, MN — This is what you might call a "triple whammy." The Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) said a trooper pulled over a motorist May 10 on Interstate 94 west of Alexandria. The following occurred:
1. The vehicle was clocked at 100 mph in a 70 mph zone
2. There were 6-year-old twins in the car
3. The twins were in the backseat unrestrained
The driver claimed "everyone else was also doing 100 mph," according to MSP. He was cited for speeding, reckless driving and the child restraint violations. Extra seat belt enforcement is on Minnesota roads through Sunday.
