The Rev. Alex Awad and his wife Brenda will address the community on Monday, Autust 27th at 7pm at the Northfield United Methodist Church. Born in Jerusalem in 1945, Rev. Alex Awad is a missionary with the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church serving in Israel/Palestine. He pastors a small international church in East Jerusalem, East Jerusalem Baptist Church, and is affiliated with the Bethlehem Bible College as professor, dean of students, and board member. His wife, Brenda, also a commissioned missionary with the Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church, supports him in this ministry.

Speaking on “ Christian Perspectives on Developments in the Palestinian Territories, the Awads will provide a first hand and personal account of the situation in the Holy Land. They have a Christian perspective in support of a non-violent resolution which would allow both peoples of the Holy Land to prosper in the future.

Rev. Awad is the author of two books: Palestinian Memories; the Story of a Palestinian Mother and Her People (Bethlehem Bible College, 2008) and Through the Eyes of the Victims (Bethlehem Bible College, 2001), a discussion of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from the perspective of Palestinians. The Awads are supported in their mission work by the Northfield United Methodist Church.
