AAUW Membership Tea

On Saturday, August 13, 10 a.m. the Northfield Branch of the AAUW, formally called the American Association of University Women, is hosting a Membership Tea for women and men interested in learning more about the organization. Consider joining a network of 100,000 members who unite behind the common goal of breaking through educational and economic barriers for women and girls. There are opportunities for individual activism, access to information on local and federal issues or legislation, as well as opportunities for professional development through local projects and education through fellowships, grants and awards. Also available will be the schedule of programs for 2011-12 which will include speakers on topics such as Women in Islam and Women in Minnesota Politics.  This Membership Tea kicks off the 95th year of the Northfield branch of AAUW.  AAUW awards $3.7 Million in Fellowships and Grants for 2011-12 academic year.
