Ban the Bug Flu Vaccination Clinic

Rice County Public Health Nursing Service will hold a “Ban the Bug” Influenza Vaccination Clinic on Monday, December 3rd from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rice County Public Health Nursing Service office, located at 320 N.W. 3^rd Street in Faribault.  The clinic is part of the statewide “Ban the Bug” effort to encourage Minnesotans to get vaccinated against influenza.

December 2nd through December 8th is National Influenza Vaccination Week. The “Ban the Bug” Campaign seeks to remind people that there is still time to protect themselves against influenza. It is not too late to get a flu shot.

Influenza vaccinations are recommended for all Minnesotans over age six months, but they are especially important for young children six months to five years old, seniors, people of any age with chronic medical conditions, pregnant women, people living with or caring for those at high risk for complications from influenza, and healthcare workers.

This walk-in flu immunization clinic is targeting children and adults who are uninsured, or who have out of pocket costs associated with flu vaccination.  A $10 donation is appreciated, but no one will be denied vaccination due to inability to pay. Flu vaccine will also be available for those with Medicare or Medical Assistance insurance plans.
