Celebrate National Train Day...with Save the Northfield Depot

Did you know there was a National Train Day? Well, there is, and Save the Northfield Depot will be celebrating with an event at the Northfield Historical Society on May 9. Our own Chip DeMann will be the featured speaker, presenting the history of Northfield Rails. Everyone is welcome to attend. The event will begin at 7 p.m. with good wine, fine cheese, and great friends who share a passion for trains and history.

The event will also include details about future upcoming events such a crowdsourcing fundraising campaign. Participants will have a chance to ride with the James-Younger gang in a re-enactment of the great 1876 Northfield Bank Raid. For a $5,000 contribution, donors will be provided an outfit, gun, and well-trained horse for the ride. The donor will also receive a professionally filmed video of their infamous ride.

Day: Thursday, May 9, 2013
