Presented by Maureen Jackson, PhD ACLS Postdoctoral New Faculty Fellow, Department of Middle Eastern Languages, this talk is based on Dr. Jackson's ethnographic fieldwork in Istanbul. It will focus on religious music-making among Turkish Jews and Muslims amidst social ruptures and continuities across the 20th and 21st centuries. This lecture will be held in the Library Athenaeum.
